Prof. Dr. Stijn van der Krogt has 30 years of international experience in business and development in Africa and Latin America. He is specialized in strategic management, entrepreneurship, SMEs, social and digital innovation and education. Between 1997 and 2012 he worked as Director Country Programmes at the International Institute for Communication and Development in the Netherlands, managing over 120 ICT for development policies and programs implemented in collaboration with government agencies, SMEs, NGOs and grass root organisations in 15 countries in Africa and Latin America. Since 2012 he is Director of the advisory company Changing Values International where he supports governments and companies in strategic and business planning. In Haiti, he advised the government on the ICT for education strategy as a senior consultant for the Interamerican Development Bank. In Bolivia, he developed an agriculture information system with the departmental government of Santa Cruz and advices cooperatives on agribusiness development with support of Nuffic. In Paraguay, he has advised and trained over 100 SMEs on innovation and business development. Between 2014 and 2020 he acted as Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration of the Universidad Paraguayo Alemana, where he developed and managed the Faculty of Business Sciences and advised start ups and scale ups in their growth process. As a member of the Paraguayan ecosystem coordination organization Karaku, he advises the Paraguayan government on entrepreneurship and incubation. Since 2020 he is Chief Academic Office of the Haarlem Campus where he coordinates business-focused bachelor and master programs, lecturers in leadership and social entrepreneurship and conducts research on the sustainable and digital twin.
