Singapore - The Global Business Angels Network (GBAN) is thrilled to announce the inclusion of Epic Angels - the largest female-only angel investment collective in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, into its rapidly growing global community of early-stage investor networks.

GBAN, an integral part of the Global Entrepreneurship Network, has over 80 members, providing mentorship, training, and support. These endeavors focus on enhancing investor capacity, addressing regulatory challenges, promoting cross-border investing, and eliminating investment obstacles.

“We are delighted to welcome Epic Angels to GBAN. Their dedication to fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and their emphasis on female empowerment in the investment landscape aligns seamlessly with our global mission,” remarked Jonathan Ortmans, President of the Global Entrepreneurship Network and Board Director at GBAN.

Epic Angels, under the leadership of Founder & Managing Partner Maaike Doyer, is a global community of female-only investors. They are committed to investing in early-stage startups in the APAC region, with a requirement for the leadership team to have at least one female member. Their primary motive for joining GBAN is to connect with a global community of like-minded networks and organizations, all dedicated to nurturing a dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem. By collaborating on deal flows and sharing knowledge, they aim to achieve greater synergies and have a more significant impact in supporting passionate founders throughout their entrepreneurial journeys.

“By becoming a part of GBAN, Epic Angels, our members, and our portfolio startups can engage with a diverse array of angel investors and entrepreneurs. This allows us to broaden our network and delve into potential investment opportunities in various markets," said Doyer. "We are eager to harness GBAN's global presence to champion the APAC startup ecosystem on an international platform.”

Epic Angels is dedicated to actively leveraging GBAN's resources and playing a central role in advancing GBAN initiatives within the APAC region. They are focused on expanding their investment portfolio, funding more startups, and placing the APAC angel investment culture and startups on the global stage.

The APAC region has demonstrated significant growth in startups across multiple sectors. While the startup ecosystem is flourishing, access to early-stage funding remains a hurdle. Epic Angels is acknowledged for its pivotal role in addressing this funding disparity, offering capital, mentorship, and expertise to promising startups.

GBAN is steered by a global board of directors with members located across Africa, North America, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. It convenes virtually on a monthly basis and in person annually. The upcoming GBAN Annual Summit is scheduled to be held in Melbourne, Australia, during the Global Entrepreneurship Congress this September.
