Ana Maria Torres is the Director of the Entrepreneurship World Cup at the Global Entrepreneurship Network. She has been adviser and consultant for governments, international organizations and private sector for over 15 years, focusing on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship at the national, regional and global level. She has developed social impact projects and has tested the most innovative models in Fintech & Sustainable Development in the Western Hemisphere, contributing to the development of national and regional entrepreneurship policies. She has also served as Strategic Adviser to the Young Americas Business Trust/Organization of American States and lead the Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas, the largest hemispheric competition for young entrepreneurs in 34 countries of the Western Hemisphere. Prior to this role, she worked at IDBLab, the innovation laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, where she was responsible for the Technologies for Financial Inclusion Program that focused on developing innovative business models to provide financial access to the un-served population in Latin America and the Caribbean. As an entrepreneur, she is the Co-Founder of Hilo Sagrado that has been named one of the top High Impact Startups in Latin-America using creativity to improve people’s lives.
