Kathryn is the Manager for Communications at the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), where she is responsible for telling and amplifying its stories worldwide. Kathryn, who is based in Ottawa, Canada, is a trained journalist with over seven years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, content creation, and supporting entrepreneurs. Prior to joining GEN, Kathryn managed and supported stakeholder communications for clients across industries including defence, cybersecurity, wind and solar energy, and education. Kathryn also spent four years with Startup Canada, where she built the foundation for the organization's communications and marketing initiatives. Through dozens of storytelling campaigns, cross-country tours and town halls, she gave thousands of entrepreneurs a voice to industry, media and government. As a result, she played a significant role in strengthening Canada's entrepreneurship ecosystem. Kathryn has a Combined Honours B.A. in Journalism and Communications Studies from Carleton University, Canada's top journalism school. Her work has been published by Canada’s top news publications and attracted the attention of influencers across sectors.
