Nyeleti Shirilele was born in Malamulele Township in Limpopo. She is one of four children. She attended school and Limpopo and obtained a law degree from the University of Limpopo (then known as Turfloop). She started her career with Mutual and Federal and proceeded to work for two other insurance companies before she decided to complete her articles and practised as an attorney. She practised as an attorney for 6 years and there after went back to the corporate world in 2002. She worked as a Legal Advisor and Company Secretary for Spescom Limited and Airports Company South Africa (ÀCSA). She is currently the Executive Head of Governance at Hollard and her portfolio includes Group Legal, Company Secretariat and Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD). Nyeleti is a member of a number of professional bodies and she is a regular speaker at the Institute of Directors (IoD) and GIBS. Nyeleti is a mother of two energetic girls (Shamiso 10 and Sesana 8). She loves travelling and going on hikes with her family and friends and goes to gym regularly. She also loves doing things that make a difference in people’s lives.
