Her entrepreneurial skills started in the 90s when her late grandmother use to send her to drop chicken eggs at local Cuca Shops for people to buy. She also used to make them prepare the marula nuts which were sold to teachers, local schools, nurses at the local clinic.
During her post graduate as Master of Science at the University of Putra Malaysia, she bought clothes and sent it to her aunt to sell. She was also introduced to multilevel marketing business in Malaysia and bought an energy stone which she was most excited about. The energy stone was supposed to improve her success as an entrepreneur. Upon returning to Namibia in November 2008. she joined one multi-level marketing company selling various cleaning products.
All these businesses did not last long and in 2012 I developed a high thinking business capacity. I use to discuss business ideas with Ms Strobl who was owning Irmi’s Lodge in Karibib as I was a tenant at the lodge when I was working in Karibib until April 2011. She continued visiting Karibib as her sisters and brother were leaving there. One day she decided to visit Ms Strobl and she was informed that her business is up for sale since 2 years ago. The nominee requested the lady to give her the business documents and all other information and .She realised that the business was strategically located and could see a lot of growth potential. Ms. Strobl agreed and the process started. In October 2012. The nominee started a course on New Venture creation in entrepreneurship offered by Namibia Tourism Board and Wits Business School. She emerged as a top performing student. She used this course to polish her business plan and learned as much as she could about all aspects of operating a business. NTB took the aspirant tourism entrepreneurs to South Africa on an exchange week. This was meant for them to implement their business plans and see they could differentiate businesses from other similar businesses in the same industry. In July 2013 she became the proud owner of Tommy’s Lodge in Karibib. This marked a great and exciting journey for the nominee. The road was not easy. However, she never gave up on herself and is recognised here tonight by the Namibian Business Hall of Fame as an a emerging entrepreneur
