Windhoek, Namibia – MICROWIDE PUBLISHING PRESS, a startup that that offers publishing services from the beginning until the end for self-publishing authors and in Namibian indigenous languages, especially children’s books for the Ministry of Education, captured first prize at the national finals of the Entrepreneurship World Cup competition held recently in Windhoek, Namibia.

Mrs. Victoria Hasheela-Mufeti, Managing Director of MICROWIDE Publishing Press, captured FIRST PRIZE and advances to the next round of the global competition against national winners from 200 countries.

The winner, Victoria Hasheela-Mufeti emotionally exclaimed, “Me Johanna, I am in awe. Being 1 of the top 200 is a dream come true. I have no words. I am happy and grateful for this once in a lifetime global opportunity. I will make sure I utilize every moment of learning. I look forward to it all. I am humbled.”

In preparation for the EWC Global Finals, she will participate in an acceleration program which features virtual training and one-to-one mentoring targeted to their company’s current stage and growth trajectory. MICROWIDE Publishing Press emerged victorious from a pool of 56 contestants who applied – each receiving access to free virtual training services and up to $25,000 in perks to help them take their venture to the next level; 15 semifinalists and 8 finalists.

Other finalists at EWC Namibia included:

• IMMENSE ENERGY SOLUTIONS from Walvis Bay, Namibia, a startup that that has an idea for an electric vehicle charger, with a sleek design and user-friendly interface.
• AZZARO from Windhoek, a startup that want to construct pediatric clinics in Namibia since there are no such clinics available
• Tetranologie Mobility from Windhoek, a startup that encouraging clean mobility, car-free alternatives vibrant communities with less traffic, cleaner air and safer streets for cyclists. They developed a special helmet with safety features that are extraordinary safety features.
• LNR Investments from Windhoek, a startup that provides an easier way to organize events; the application providing a platform by means of an app serving as a market place connecting people to businesses operating in the events planning industry.
• BAILIN ENERGY SOLUTIONS from Oranjemund. The company seeks to reduce carbon emissions resulting from deforestation and burning of wood waste using improved renewable energy technologies that will utilize sawdust, forest/agricultural waste, etc. as a source of fuel. Our charcoal briquettes are the best substitute and 0.05% of the revenue is going to the reforestation program.
• NAMIBIA SOLUTIONS SERVICES from Windhoek was created to help transform rural Namibia and ultimately in rural African habitats and is ready to transform rural Africa.
• NISP from Walvis Bay, they provide cheap and super secure internet use that is built into smart appliances like phones, computers, TVs, that delivers 6ghz speeds anywhere around the world to subscribers.

More than 150,000 contestants from 200 countries entered the Entrepreneurship World Cup. The initiative combines a broad-reaching pitch competition, aimed at ventures ranging from idea stage to growth stage, with a virtual accelerator program to help all participants launch, strengthen and scale their enterprises. Global Finalists will face off against one another at the Misk Global Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in October. EWC is an initiative led by the Misk Global Forum, Global Entrepreneurship Network and the Global Education and Leadership Foundation (tGELF) with support from a collection of national and global partners, including the GSVlabs and Entrepreneurs’ Organization.
