Plans for Global Entrepreneurship are starting to trickle out from a number of countries. Here are a few of the whispers we’ve heard:

  • The Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation for Graduates in Chinahave promised to outdo themselves with an even more extravagant opening ceremony on the first day of GEW. Last year’s launch launch saw thousands pack the Shanghai Theater Academy for the debut performance of a musical drama — “Forever the Moment” — which highlighted youth entrepreneurship performed by undergraduates of the Academy.
  • Endeavor Brazil is sending a GEW-themed boat down the Amazon River on that will stop in various cities throughout the Week.
  • Word from Warisan Global in Malaysia is that two fairly impressive events are starting to emerge from the pack scheduled for GEW/Malaysia – Open Web Asia (OWA) and the Work-Life Balance Conference. OWA is a regional event being organized by entrepreneurs.my – the group that has organized some of the country’s more interesting entrepreneurial events such as BarCamp Malaysia, Startup Camp KL, TEDx KualaLumpur, Facebook Developers Garage KL, NetBash with Guy Kawasaki and many more. The Work-Life Balance Conference is organized by Gorgeous Geeks
  • In Portugal, an opening event is taking shape that will pull together government leaders and entrepreneurs from a number of countries and focus on advancing policies to promote entrepreneurship. Stay tuned for updates from the Portugese Business Angels Association
  • The Ciputra Foundation in Indonesia is attempting to break the Indonesian “Guinness Book of Records” for the most simultaneous seminars on entrepreneurship by holding seminars throughout Indonesia on the same day.

Stay tuned for more details. In the meantime, tell us what you are planning for GEW.
